Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that NovaCaster and Alanna Harpsong are going to be away for a while. Kaho will likely be lurking somewhere in her native state. We’ve got had a big vacation planed for some time to Europe. And we will be gone for a little over 3 week or there about. Alanna and Nova will be gone from the 16th of September to the 8th of October.
What does this mean for you? Well less art obviously. But more so to those that may have been noodling around with the idea for a commission. If you send an email and we don’t respond to you don’t worry. Chances are we’re reveling in geeky history things or drunk ….
We promise we’ll get to you as soon as possible when were home. We will try to keep an eye on the squid email, but no promises. See you when we get back.
So here are a couple of pictures I’ve had in the works. One of the lovely Rosalyn from The Cat House. Originally I had planed to do just a quick pin-up of her in a German dirndl dress. For the spirit of Oktoberfest and because we will be heading out to Germany very soon here. I however did not anticipate the way it morphed into a German style beer label. But it was a fun idea and I ran with it. Which became a lot of fun to work on as it is out of the realm of what I normally do. This in turn inspired Nova to do a label of his own with Yasmin. We’re now playing around with idea of doing more of them with some of the other Cat House characters. But we’ll see.
The second image here is my newest tentacle creation. I introduce to you Gerhard Von Wigglesstein. My gentlemanly Prussian tentacle monster. Yup. I’ve been on a German kick. I’ve also been on a WWI kick because of Sabaton. So this is how this beautiful creation came to be. While I had never considered making myself my own pet tentacle monster, I do believe I have a new pet.
Mostly slaving away on scripts and inking comic pages.
By Alanna Harpsong
I did have a few things to upload. I finished a little chibi I did. She’s a mascot based on coffee. For now we’ll just call her Coffee-chan. It was an idea that my husband and room mate had. We all decided to design our own coffee themed lady. Though I think I’m the first to actually finish mine. Hopefully I do little pin-ups with her from time to time.
Secondly I finally caught up with my father and I was able to snag a picture of the other tattoo he got done of my art. The elven druid I did a little bit ago.
Still pretty wild seeing my art on the back of my father’s legs. O_O
A commission for one of my very good friends. As always a pleasure to work with you. You’ve let me run wild again with your lovely ladies and I thank you. This time including a little bit of fan art with the lovely and vivacious Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She invited a couple of my friend’s ladies to join her for some close up, personal, one on one time in her dungeon.
I’ve been dying to play around with some shibari. I have a soft spot for it in my heart. So glad to have a reason to kick my ass into gear and finally do it. Of course, because my brain is treacherous and I love to torture myself. My brain had to go what would make this insanely difficult. Lets suspend them… in such a way that I can tie them together. T_T
Finished another picture today. This one’s been floating around for a bit. But I still really liked how it turned out so I got this one finished up. A picture of my Cat House character Rosalyn. I’d done a few pictures of Rosalyn like this just doing every day things. It was great practice, and really great at helping me move past some art block I had a bit ago.
So if you’re familiar with my Rosalyn I’m sure her reading a book must look strange. I bet you would have figured on porn magazines or something like that. Not that she doesn’t have a mighty collection of those. But she does enjoy reading books. Bet you can’t guess at her favorite genre though.
This is my newest commission complete for my very good friend. Thank you Doc as always for commissioning me and giving me so much freedom to play around!
Doc asked if I could draw one of his lovely ladies bound to a standard of a D&D monster. I was free to pick the monster. It was a tough choice. My other candidate was a mind flayer. But the beholder won out in the end.
This was a lot of fun to work on. I have to admit the beholders teeth are my favorite part. I got to play around with a lot of lighting effects and that was fun too. Also an unusually large amount of pink for me. But it worked.
This is one I’ve been working on for a while. A gift for my father. If you see a red headed dwarf in my gallery that was the first gift I did for him. Because he wanted to get tattoos of my art. The dwarf was first and it turned out beautifully. It’s like the artist just ironed on my picture.
It was in a way an interpretation of him if he were a fantasy character. He asked if I could do another one for my mother. And so I have.
All three there for you to see. I look forward to seeing how this one turns out. I will share when it comes to be. I’d say if. But I know my father.
Greetings all. Alanna here. Thought it was long over due that I say hello. So Hello! Mostly just wanted to upload some new art today.
So this picture is one of three quick ones I have done. Nova has done some similar ones. All to be combined into a banner of sorts. Eventually we’ll be launching Patreon again. NewGrounds could use something that actually fits their banner spot. We wanted something that show cases our more current art and our art together.
Everyone dance if you love tentacle monsters! *Is dancing alone if I have to*.
These guys belong to my tentacle monster pet shop owner Maeve. Her shops name, Tentalize. If you’ve been through my galleries you might have seen a lovely lady with an afro. That is Maeve. She procures, sells and breeds pet tentacle monsters. These lovely little guys are her own personal pets.
The mushroom based one has a name that I am reconsidering. The little green guys are based on Venus fly traps. Enrique, Star and Echo from left to right.
They are from the same universe as Lyssa and Dickins (Nova’s characters.) They also were my response to Nova creating tentacle monsters. I wanted my own because I refuse to be left out. I also need my own lady for them. Maeve was a one shot design I had done and when I designed her. Then the stars aligned and I started calling her Maeve. Who owned an pet shop. Full of tentacle monsters. ^_^
