New art and new merch!
New Cyberpunk Art!
And merch, because this shit is sweet.
By Alanna Harpsong
So Nova and I came up with an idea a bit ago to do a series of monster girls. Which are always fun to do. But we wanted to do something a little bit different than just the standard here’s and imp, succubus, etc. We thought, what if we cyberpunked them out? Nova may or may not have being playing Cyberpunk 2077 and thus we were inspired. But wouldn’t that make a fun calendar?
We of course thought we’d get through the idea a little faster than we have and we would have a calendar for this year. But life happened. So…next year.
Somehow I (Alanna) beat Nova to releasing the first one. I picked ghost for my first monster girl. I was originally going to do the very computer based thing. Then I realized that I drew a bunch of audio cables, and I went sure. Audio ghost. Unintentional inspiration perhaps from getting back into learning music and playing an instrument again.
Regardless, pretty proud of this one. Never tried doing anything cyberpunk before. I usually find anything mechanical intimidating. So a lot of firsts on this one for me. Sometimes you just gotta leap off that cliff. ^_~
Of course there’s a whole slew of merch to be had on the studio store now. T-shirts, posters, stickers, mugs, and beer glass to name just a few. Head on over and check them out.

Christmas is just around the corner. Treat someone you know. Or hell. You know, treat yourself. You deserve it! For those in the US, you can even take advantage of TeeSpring’s Afterpay to break it down into smaller chunks to pay instead of all at once.

Commission Prices Changing.
Commission Pricing Changing
and other reminders.
By Alanna Harpsong
Hello all!
Some news from the studio. Nova and I (Alanna) have been talking for a bit. We both realized that come February of 2022 it will have been 3 years since we launched the official website fore Studio Squid Ink. This also means we have not made changes in prices to our commissions in almost 3 years. It’s hard to believe that it’s been that long already. I suppose in someways it feels like the pandemic has made time vanish when we weren’t paying attention.
Yes, you guessed it. This means Nova and I are officially revising our commission prices and making adjustments where fair. We’ve gained a lot of skill in the last three years, and well unfortunately the price of living also keeps going up, and it is no longer realistic for us to continue at our current rate. We also put a lot of hours into each commission to give the best possible piece to you we can. We should have been making appropriate adjustments every year, but have honestly just forgotten. So yes, it will be a little bit of a skip this time around. But should be a lot more gradual in the future. And we will do our best to remember in the future. ^_^;
We’re still tweaking numbers. Our current prices will stay in effect until the end of the year. Starting January 1st 2022, our new pricing will take over. So, if you’re inclined, now’s a great time to get a commission before prices go up.
If you would like to get a commission at our current pricing be sure you get your commission request into us by midnight on the 31st of December, and make sure you are in a position to roll with it in a reasonable amount of time. We won’t hold a commission spot for you at the old pricing indefinitely.
~Alanna and Nova
Also, we have a merch shop! With real tangible items. You know what? Christmas is coming. Why not hop in and take a look around.

Lastly, we’re counting down to the launch of Volume 6, of The Cat House. December 3rd for everyone. For our awesome subscribers, they get access on the 1st. They always get pages 2 days before everyone else. Subscribing on either Patreon or SubscribeStar is a great way to support the studio. The more support there, the more we can whittle down the hours we work at our full time jobs and create more content. Vote on pin-ups. $5 and up get a copy of the pin-up. This month it’s Miyuki as a monster girl. She makes quite the fiendish imp. ^_~ And when volume 6 is complete, $10 subscribers get a digital copy of the volume.

Elementor #2057
Studio News, Volume 6
and some Halloween goodness.
By Alanna Harpsong
A few things to announce!
Studio Squid Ink has an official merch store now! We’ve set up on Teespring. Because who doesn’t love T-shirts, mugs and more! We certainly have a closet full of band shirts that speak to that sentiment, among other things.
Want to drink your coffee out of a mug with Nova’s Coffee-chan? Now you can! Or you can even take it with you in a travel tumbler. She doesn’t mind if you put tea in her either. Get styling with our WWII in Chibi t-shirts. Winter is coming … we have sweat shirts too.
Would you like to curl up and get warm with Miyuki and Rosalyn? There’s a blanket for that. Or enjoy a beverage in one of our Oktoberfest themed Beir glasses with Rosalyn or Yasmin. Or in general show your love of Studio Squid Ink with a T-shirt with our logo on it. Or one of our personal squids. You could rock Alanna’s Squidthulu or Nova’s Art Mongol.
And that’s just the start! Between new art and some of our wonderful older pieces, we encourage you to follow us for new releases! Head on over and check it out!
Next bit of news!
Finally, for what you have all been waiting for! News on volume 6 of The Cat House.
We’re getting to that point where we have just enough pages done that we feel comfortable starting the release of the next volume. Starting on the first Friday of December, (12/3/2021) we will begin releasing pages. Like usual we will release a page every Friday until we run out of pages. This volume is 30 plus pages. So, it’ll be a bit.
However, if you subscribe on either Patreon or SubscribeStar, you’ll get access to new pages every Wednesday before we release to the general public. The bonus our Patreons and Subscribers have gotten since the end of the last volume, has been a sneak peak at this volume. From story boards, to sketches, inking, various stages of coloring, etc. At our $10 tier on either platform, you’ll get a digital copy of the comic when it’s complete. As well as all the other general goodies we have. Like our monthly pin-up that you get to vote on. In full color now.
You can support us on either Patreon or SubscribeStar
What can you expect in Volume 6? Aside from the general chaos and sexy shenanigans of the fair folk of The Cat House, you’ll also get to meet the next member of the staff, as will Miyuki. Irena, our German nudist chef. No idea what The Cat House is? Just head on over to our galleries and you can read the first 5 volumes.
Remember, December 3rd! Or the 1st for for our wonderful supporters!
Lastly, enjoy the Halloween madness of The Cat House. Nova and I started that picture way to late. But amazingly we’re only a day past Halloween with it. We wanted to do a big crazy Halloween picture with some of the Cat House staff. What was supposed to be bobbing for apples has gone wrong. Thanks Rosalyn!
Nova sketched and inked the picture. I (Alanna) was on a good role for coloring it, but then life … lifed all over the place. And Nova helped me color Miyuki and Yasmin and all that wonderful lube so that this picture wasn’t a couple of weeks late. ^_^; Hope your Halloween was spooky and fun!

Studio News and Updates
Studio News
And other updates.
By Alanna Harpsong
Well this post is long over due. Been a while since we announced anything, or gave any general updates. Funny enough, we’d have to say 2021 has been a bit of a shit year. So there are a lot of reasons why perhaps in some aspects we’ve been less active than normal. Made our 2020 seem not so bad. We are both doing well now. Or at least stubbornly moving forward on bad days.
There are some new things brewing in Studio Squid Ink. Some things we’ve been meaning to do for some time now. Somethings slowed down because of the pandemic, or became impossible. Such as getting together some things to hit up some of the many conventions out there. It was hard to proceed forward with so much uncertainty. While we fared well, others have not. So launching other things we’ve had in mind for some time didn’t quite feel like the right time. Who knows how things will continue to go with this pandemic. But life goes on, so must we. And we’re long overdue to kick our ass into gear.
Some avenues we’ve been pursuing may involve tangible merchandise. Because who doesn’t love t-shirts, mugs, and stickers. News to come on that front soon, but it is in the works. >_> We are actually waiting on some samples to be made and sent to us.
The thing we really wanted to introduce today was a new platform we’re on. We now have a page on SubscribeStar. What is SubscribeStar? It’s just like Patreon, but much more on the friendly side with adult content. Does this mean we’re getting rid of Patreon? No. Some people really like it. It’s not a bad platform, but it does leave something to be desired somedays. But diversification in business can really only help. In talking with some fans, I’ve run into people who were inclined to support us, but weren’t fans of Patreon as a platform. Thus influencing their decision to not subscribe. Also being friendlier on the adult artist content, it gives us plan B if Patreon finally completely banishes us.
SubscribeStar will be exactly the same across the board as Patreon. So, you won’t be missing out on anything if you subscribe to one and not the other. Just like Patreon, subscribers, depending on tier, will get early access to art both SFW and NSFW. You’ll get to see work in progress on our comic and visual novel/dating sim. As well as getting to vote on the monthly pin-up, copies of the hi-res jpg. See into the actual studio itself and the squids who reside there. Head on over here and check it out!
Will we be opening up any other platforms? We have our eyes on OnlyFans. Still waiting to let a bit of the dust settle from their Tumblr like snafu and see where they stand. But that may be coming in the future too.
Check out some of our more recent art below.
Finally some news on volume 6 of The Cat House. There were some things that interrupted our flow on this one for sure. We are working on it and getting back into our normal flow. We will be releasing it sometime this year. Unsure of when just yet. We have 8 pages fully sketched. 5 fully colored. And the others in various stages of done.
We want to get several more pages complete so that we can keep up with our standard page a week release. Which will make it so we can keep up completing at least a page a week to keep up.
That sums it up for today! Stay tuned, there will be a bit more news to come in the next little bit.

Studio News and Updates
Studio News and Updates
Volume 5 cumming soon!
By Alanna Harpsong
Hey everybody! It’s been a little bit. Honestly not a lot to report or update on. Things have been the same day in and day out. It’s been a year so far for everyone. We count everything good in our life and make the best of what we can. So a lot of time has definitely gone into our art.
Thank you all that have been commissioning us. Nova especially. So much so that he’s closed his commissions for the time being. While we’ve kept up with The Cat House comic pretty well, we’ve lagged behind on the game a bit. Hoping that closing commissions for a little bit will help us get back to where we need to be. Nova may be closed, I am not. So you can still get commissions from me (Alanna).
As we have mentioned on previous posts, on any of our many pages, The Cat House volume 5 will becoming out this year, and we finally have a concrete date. Starting on Friday December 4th, and every Friday after that until we run out of pages. Of course this means our Patreons get access starting on December 2nd for all $5 and up Patreons. $10 Patreons will get the comic in whole as soon as it is finished. Around the time of launch we should be around page 18 or 19 of 32 done.
That sums up most of it I think.

The Military Unicorn
Oddities of the Great War
The arrival and imminent assault of the Military Unicorn on the unsuspecting Russians
By NovaCaster
So there is in fact a story behind this picture. A couple of years ago, our good friend DoctorDweeb sent us a book. The book is titled “Military Uniforms” and is a visual encyclopedia of various military uniforms from all over the world at different time periods.
One morning, Alanna was staring at out bookshelf. Her glasses were off and she had recently woken up. She turns and asks me “Ummm… Why do we have a book on Military Unicorns?” I thought the idea of a military unicorn was hilarious and therefore I decided to draw it! So one night at work, I sketched it out. It was a World War 2 based image with a girl riding the back of a unicorn which was in full US military regalia. I never colored it, and after a while I kinda forgot about it.
This brings us to present day. Alanna started asking if I would ever color it. So one day on a stream, she came up with the brilliant idea to make the Military Unicorn into a Centaur. This is the result of that endeavor!
As you can see, I also tagged on the original sketch of the first Military Unicorn there at the end.
The image is based on a famous WW1 picture of a German Lancer on the Eastern Front against the Russians. The absurdity of the original picture, and the fact that it was a real unit in the Great War, made it perfect to make a Centaur out of. While I was drawing it I decided that I wanted it to have multiple versions. So we’ve got an assortment of heads and of course a topless version ;).
I hope you all enjoy the updated Military Unicorn!

Updates and well wishes.
Updates and well wishes.
The end is not neigh.
By Alanna Harpsong
Hopefully everyone is doing well, staying healthy and as safe as possible in quarantine. The squids are well and healthy themselves. It is a difficult time. We certainly miss going out, but are finding ways to fill the time positively. Been able to catch up on some movies and shows. I am finally working on curtains I promised my roommate a bit ago now that he finally got me the fabric. Finding new bands to listen to. Hope to see a Warhammer 40k game or two in my future. Hell, I’ve had time to prime my mountain of minis. >_> Let’s not talk about what I need to paint though.
Believe me I understand how difficult times are now. I want out of my house as much as you do, and on a normal day I’m happy enough to be home and hiding in my basement. But try to stay positive and stay safe. In the end, this is a moment in time. It’ll come to end in due time. I believe living to see the end is more worth it than rushing when things are still dangerous.
